FUNKY STARS…SERIOUS ASTROLOGY

This August 2010 horoscope forecast is based on planetary aspects and lunations, with some fixed star interpretations thrown in. August 2010 is the most intense time of the whole year astrologically, particularly the first two weeks. This is because the Cardinal T-square between Saturn, Uranus and Pluto is within it’s tightest orb, under two degrees. Venus and Mars with Saturn, and Jupiter with Uranus make this T-square especially strong. “This is assumed by astrologers studying mundane astrology that it shall be a time with many great challenges and dramatic changes. The monthly 2010 horoscope forecasts are not based on Sun sign astrology, but on planetary aspects and lunations, with some fixed star interpretations. If you’re in Los Angeles subtract 7 hours, New York subtract 4 hours, London add 1 hour, Delhi add 5.5 hours, and Sydney add 10 hours.

Tuesday 03 August 5:00 am – Quarter Moon at 10.47 Taurus, and at 5:32 am Jupiter square Pluto is real test our faith. Jupiter is growth, success, wealth, and also our morals and philosophy. The action of Pluto squaring Jupiter is to cut the excesses of Jupiter down to size. Jupiter is conjunct the fixed star Deneb Kaitos in the Sea Monster, “It causes self-destruction by brute force, sickness, disgrace, misfortune and compulsory change. Inhibitions and restraints in every way, psychologically and physically. With Jupiter: High legal or ecclesiastical position, but danger of reversal, treachery from secret enemies, loss through speculation.“  [1] So Jupiter on this star suggests speculation is not favorable. Given the square from Pluto and all the other T-square aspects, I would not be putting money into anything speculative like the stock market at this time.

Wednesday 04 August 4:20 am Mars opposite Jupiter and at 4:58 am Mars square Pluto. Mars started activating the T-square a few days ago when it was opposite Uranus and conjunct Saturn. None of these transits can be considered beneficial, they area all challenging aspects. Jupiter is the only “benefic” planet  involved but under such a negative influence I expect it’s darker side to come out: Excess, greed and ignorance. Mars in transit does activate things because Mars is aggressive and energetic. The energy here should push us to at least get things done, to sort things out that have been annoying us for a while. There are sure to be consequences, hurt feelings and nasty reactions. That’s just the way it has to be with this configuration. Challenges need to be faced head on, hiding will not get us anywhere.

Saturday 07 August 4:10 am Moon opposite Pluto. This is important because this activates the Cardinal Grand Cross. Also today we have the first of four Venus transits to the T-square planets, with Venus opposite Uranus at 7:59 am. These Venus transits are much softer than the Mars transits at these degrees over the last week. While Mars causes anger and frustration in hard aspects to malefic planets, Venus seeks peace and compromise, and does not produce actions or events as much as Mars in transit. Venus opposite Uranus is still a challenging aspect though as we may be confronted by unexpected consequences in our relationships. Like the rest of these Venus transits, we will be trying to resolve problems in our relationships that arose out of the Mars anger and frustrations over the last week.

Sunday 08 August 5:24 pm Venus conjunct Saturn. This is a day of facing the reality about where our affections lay. This aspect is associated with difficulty in expression our love and affection, and also feeling depressed and thinking the worst about our close relationships. The positive side of this is that we find out who we truly love and who truly loves us. Lasting and solid relationships thrive through difficulties, and there can be a great sense of satisfaction and achievement by sticking together through good times and bad.

Monday 09 August 11:40 pm Venus opposite Jupiter. This is the least challenging of all these Mars and Venus transits to the T-square because Venus and Jupiter are both softer, friendlier planets than the others involved. Given everything else going on around this time, this should be a happy day!

Tuesday 10 August 3:08 am New Moon at 17 Leo “This month we get a “Fist of God” involving Pluto square Jupiter both sequi the New Moon.” At 4:05 am today Venus square Pluto completes the Venus transits of the T-square.

Monday 16 August 6:15 pm Quarter Moon 23.47 Scorpio is conjunct the fixed star Agena in constellation Centaurus. “It gives position, friendship, refinement, morality, health and honor. A significator of success. With Moon: Sarcasm and bitter speech, strong passions”. [2] Also today is at 8:45 pm is Jupiter opposite Saturn. The cycles of Jupiter and Saturn have been closely studied for thousands of years, and astrologers have made predictions of everything from the return of Christ, to Armageddon based on this cycle, especially the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, termed the “Great Conjunction“. So the current Jupiter Saturn cycle started with the last great conjunction in May 2000, at 22.43 Taurus. The last great conjunction occured in 2000 when Israel pulled out of Southern Lebanon after a 22 year occupation. During the last square between Jupiter and Saturn, the Magen David Adom and Palestinian Red Crescent Society were officially recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

THE DAY OF RECKONING

Friday 20 August 10:07 am Sun opposite Neptune. Kicks of a series of tight and heavy duty aspects that come to a head this week. But by bit then, first off Neptune puts deception and fogginess into the mix. The Sun representing rulers is in the domain of the King (Constellation Leo) not far from the heart of the Lion. So the Sun is essentially strong, but battling forces that attempt to confuse him. This will be coming I feel from the trickster energy of The Crow ignited at 6:48 pm by Venus conjunct Mars at 13.35 Libra which is actually sesqui Neptune. Venus gives the planet of war strength, but is this strength to resist or to start war? Add to that miss-communications from Mercury stationing retrograde on 19 Virgo at 8:00 pm with Neptune making it hard for see things clearly.

Mars and Venus are apparently conjunct the star Algorab (In the Crow) on the ecliptic, but they are are still positioned IN the constellation Virgo, which could tame Mars hopefully. However this star has been associated with major terrorist attacks such as 9/11. It looks like a day were everything conspires to explode into some sort crisis, but Venus may succeed in reigning Mars in thanks to the Virgins influence. At the same time there is the tight T-square between Pluto, Saturn and the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction on Scheat. So this is a tough call for diplomats (Venus). The whole thing spells out something akin to the Cuban missile crisis. Because of Neptune, there may be a smokescreen, we may not hear about this till much later. August 20 is the last trading day on the stock market before the final Saturn Pluto square, high risk day for investors.

Saturday 21 August 9:56 am Saturn square Pluto. The very next day we get an uneasy deathly silence with the two power planets in a kind of stand-off. These are both planets of endings. Saturn makes it final, but Pluto does bring hope of resurrection. For us personally this may mean a crunch time in our relationships, where we are in a state of numbness and shock after the door has been slammed in our face. Where we are sitting there praying to god it was just a bad dream.

Tuesday 24 August 5:06 pm Full Moon 01.26 Pisces sextile’s Pluto . Full Moon August 2010 – Rack of Doom Here we get the answer after our agonizing wait over the weekend when things come to a head. Whatever the Moon illuminates in you chart will be the issue.

Thursday 26 August 5:12 am Sun trine Pluto. The Sun is out of Neptune’s fog now and we can see things with Pluto’s intense and piercing gaze. Everything is now frighteningly clear. Though the trine should give us some hope that whatever blockage was shifted by Pluto’s ruthless plumbing it was for the best in the long run.
