Saturn Square Pluto 2010 – Financial Crisis
Saturn square Pluto on 21 August 2010 is part of the biggest thing in astrology for years, the Cardinal Crisis, and the global financial crisis is not improving, in fact things appear to be worsening. This will be no surprise to mundane astrologers as they have been predicting hard economic times due to the current planetary alignments. Richard Nolle at Astropro says “There will still be a growing, jarring rift in the business as usual…including what I have long characterized as panic in the markets…Debt, default and bankruptcy are still key issues under this kind of alignment.” Raymond Merriman at Merriman Market Analyst says “I think taxes and interest rates will increase, and shortly afterwards, I think this will lead to an economic recession and decline of the USA stock market, and probably stock markets of other nations too.” Read more
The first two weeks of August 2010 is the climax of the ongoing T-square involving Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. Because the planets involved are in Cardinal signs it has been labelled the Cardinal Cross, but it is also being called the Cardinal crisis, Cardinal Climax and even Cosmic Cross. During this time, these three planets are withing two degrees total orb, the tightest of this T-square’s life. That alone makes this period important because the last time there was a similar pattern with these planets was in the early 1930′s, the Great Depression and the downward spiral toward world war and the deaths of 70 million people. What makes this time so critical is the involvement of other planets and lunations making this thing a super charged Grand Gross.
Conjunctions of Jupiter and Uranus occur about every 14 years. The June 2010 conjunction at 0 degrees Aries is the first of three in this series. The other two are on 19 September 2010 at 29 Pisces, and 04 January 2011 at 27 Pisces.
The Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) of 26 June 2010 is conjunct Pluto very closely by just 41 minutes. Astrologers have been very interested in this for a while because it is a trigger for the big T-square with Saturn opposite Uranus, both square Pluto. Major upheavals have been predicted including social and political unrest, more economic collapses, and more catastrophic earthquakes and volcanic activity. The chart for this Lunar Eclipse shows a powerful Grand Cross configuration which can be a sign of suffering but also of giving service to those in need.
Saturn is opposite Uranus on 26 April 2010, the fourth of five of these oppositions over a 20 month period. These oppositions are having a marked effect on the world as we have seen with the big changes in economic structures and politics. Americas first black president, Barack Obama was elected on the same day as the first opposition, and the worlds first openly lesbian head of state, Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir was elected prime minister of Iceland 4 days before the second opposition.
